How I spent my weekend: Mini Braids

by honestlyerica on December 7, 2011

If you follow me on Twitter you know that I spent last weekend slaving over putting these mini braids in my hair.I started on Friday night and finished up Sunday night. My fingers, arms and back were all aching! But it was worth it. I will keep these things in for at least 4 weeks.

I started with shampooed and deep conditioned hair that I let completely dry in braids. I deep conditioned with my Anita Grant Rhassoul Clay. Which I recently fell in love with and will be posting a video and review soon. I braid very small because I am crazy and I use Jane Carter’s Nourish and Shine on each braid. I don’t do any structured parts, just grab small sections of hair and braid.

I love mini braids because I can wet my hair without ruining the style. I moisturize, deep condition and co-wash as often as I want. Click below to watch some videos on how I achieve this look and styles I have done on these braids.

I was always so impatient for mini braids like this but they are so easy to wear and look so cute too.

Wow!!! Three days of slaving on your braids? Hey, like you said it was worth it. They look so pretty. Please do a video on the Rhassoul clay. I have heard wonderful things about it. I do henna treatments and was wondering what the difference between the both of them are.

Do you purposely leave the ends of your twist untwisted? I think they look awesome by the way.

@capricornqueen Absolutely! Thank you! Sometimes I define them with product so they get curly. It looks really cute. Not often because I want to protect my ends. Oh and these are braids. And when is your birthday? I’m a Capricorn too.

Hey Erica, absolutely adore the braids and I think I’ll be doing this style tomorrow! I really need a break and this style is so effortless once its in. I love the way you hooked up that 2nd pic, did you do that with photoshop?

Thank you and good luck with your braids! Oh how I wish I knew photoshop. I use a free program I found online called Picasa to make my collages. Its super easy. It does all the work for you. I made my blog banner with it.
