The Vitamin Shoppe is one of my favorite stores for hair care products. The reason is because I can get products that I would normally have to get online and avoid paying shipping. When Target starts selling Jojoba oil and Aubrey Organics I will convulse with excitement. On this most recent trip I went in to restock on my ingredients for the Kimmaytube leave in and picked a couple extras as well.
So the first item I was in search was Aloe Vera Juice. I mix my leave in with the Aloe Vera Juice and it is what keeps the pH of the moisturizer at 4.5. This is important because it is suppose to help close the hair’s cuticle and keep it moisturized. Now my other bottle of Aloe Vera expired and I still had so much left over. Now I have seen ladies on YouTube spray their hair before deep conditioning and mixing it with other products to adjust the pH so I think I will be trying that . I don’t want my $8.00 to go to waste again.
Now on to Jojoba oil. Its pretty funny that I have so much to write about a simple trip to the health food store, but I digress. I love jojoba oil with all my heart, soul, body and mind. If I could drench my hair/body in this oil daily and still feed my family I would. This stuff is expensive. This small jar was like $10.00. That’s highway robbery! What are Jojoba’s forged from diamonds?! I generally only use this stuff in my leave in and on special occasions to seal.
Now that I had all my leave in ingredients I was lacking I was ready to spend my money on stuff I didn’t necessarily need. So I found my FAVORITE deep conditioner, Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose. I will be writing a staple post soon and this will probably be #1 on that list. It is so thick and creamy and nutritious and delicious…for my hair. The other thing I grabbed was Bentonite Clay. I remember reading about this stuff years ago and everyone raving about how amazing it was. I figured because I had such a good experience with the Rhassoul Clay I might have the similar results with this. This stuff is easier and cheaper to get my hands on. But we will see, I will do a review soon.
So that’s it for my Vitamin Shoppe haul. Where are your favorites places to get hair care products?
